'When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be' ~ Lao Tzu

Upgrade your first impression!

We've recently started looking at purchasing a new home, and one of the things that has surprised us the most is the lack of attention to the subtle things on a house. As a new homebuyer, one of the first things I notice when pulling up is the mailbox, as I'm looking for the address. I then park along the road and stare at the house for a few moments, taking in all the detail. Maybe there is some ornate work on a handrail, a stained window on the door, a custom personalized address plaque, the look of the landscaping. Regardless of the specific detail, it is the fact that these things show that the previous homeowner cared about the house. They took the time to invest in making subtle upgrades that improved the overall look and feel.

Now, I'm not saying that if you don't have personalized doormats that your house is going to look bad. I'm merely suggesting that this type of detail gets noticed and appreciated by people visiting your home. These types of items are even that expensive. You can get a real nice address plaque for $50.

All I\m suggesting is that you take a look at options to make the first impression of your home a good one. You don't even have to really go buy anything to improve the look and feel of your home. Some things are a given, such as keeping the house painted, mowing the grass, and doing landscaping... but if you want to impress someone, add a few custom touches to your entrance!
